BAKWERI NEWS

THE BAKWERI COMMUNITY IN GREAT BRITAIN

The Bakweri community in Britain organised the biggest tribal event ever held in Great Britain by any tribe, on the 17th of August 2024. The event was the welcoming of the paramount chief of Buea, HRH Dr Robert Esuka Endeley, to Britain. The event, which brought together Bakweri people from all corners of Britain and some from mainland Europe and America, resulted in the largest gathering of Bakweri people in British history. They did not come to talk about the type of jobs they have, they did not come to talk about their academic or professional titles, they did not come to talk about how much money they earn, they did not come to talk about how big their houses and cars are and they did not come to talk about how much money they have in their bank accounts. BUT, they came to join their fellow Bakweri people to welcome the paramount chief and give him a big treat, they came to smile at everybody, they came to laugh and joke with everybody, they came to chat with everybody, they came to sing with everybody, they came to dance with everybody, they came to eat and drink with everybody, they came to listen to the poem composed for the paramount chief and they came to get to know everybody. Fundraising for the event resulted in the highest amount ever raised for an event organised by the Bakweri community, in British history. Congratulations to the Organising Committee who did everything possible to make sure that the event would be one to remember always. Everyone of our successes in organising and holding the event is our joint honour in this our Bakweri Community in Britain. As they say, pictures tell the whole story; CLICK HERE TO WATCH 182 PICTURES OF THE EVENT.
