Mrs Christiana Namondo Menyoli Laid To Rest

Mrs Christiana Namondo Menyoli, Managing Director of Mermoz Hotel Buea, was laid to rest at Small Soppo on 16 July 2011.Wife of Fako Ship Director Dr. Charles Namme Menyoli, Mrs Menyoli died on 14 June 2011 after two operations for multiple fibroids.

Born in 1939 to Chief Frederick Esongami of Wonya Lyonga Buea and Susana Mojoko Eseye of Wonya Molio Buea, she studied at Government School Buea Station. She was recruited into the civil service where she worked in the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication in various capacities. After retirement in 1993, she joined her husband in business and by dint of hard work became Managing Director of Hotel Mermoz.

Mrs Menyoli was a devout Christian in the Presbyterian Church right from her youth. She attended Sunday school at Basel Mission and joined the Christian Youth Fellowship (CWF) Small Soppo. She was one of the founding members of the Ndola Bito now Ndola Kristo Choir. She was church elder for 30 years, Treasurer for 15 years and Chairperson for two terms.

Her contribution to the growth of the church was remarkable and she made many financial donations some of which assisted in the construction of a new church building and Pastor’s residence.

Mrs Christiana Namondo Menyoli née Esongami Mokake was a great wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her husband, five children (One girl and four boys) and nine grandchildren to mourn her. May her soul rest in peace.
