Cameroon Association of Sports Journalists Elects New Executive

The Cameroon Association of Sports Journalists now has a new executive. A five-man executive was elected during an elective general assembly that took place in Kumba on Saturday August 15, 2015.
The election witnessed a sanction vote against the former president, Gustave Samnick, who lost to Eric Martial Njomo. Mr. Njomo won the elections with a landslide victory of 44 votes against 5 votes for the incumbent, Mr. Samnick.
Mr. Matute Menyoli, of CRTV Mount Cameroon FM, Simon Lyonga Molombe of CRTV National Station, Charline Flore Demgne of CRTV Mount FM and Rapheal Happi Mbele of Le Sportif Cameroon Football won the positions of Vice President, Secretary General, Treasurer and Auditor respectively by acclamation.
According to the constitution of the Cameroon Association of Sports Journalists, there are five elective positions which include the post of the President, the Vice-President, Secretary General, Treasurer and Auditor. The other positions are by appointments done by the elected officials.
Among those who survived to be maintained in this new executive is Simon Lyonga. He was in the former executive and stood in for this election as incumbent.
At the end of the election, the new President, Eric Martial Njomo, thanked all members for the confidence they bestowed on him. He promised to give a good balance sheet at the end of his mandate. Mr. Njomo who is currently the President of the Littoral Regional Branch of the association promised to revive other regional branches.
He also thanked the South West Region branch of the association specifically for the support to see him win the elections as well as the mobilisation they did to host the event.
