Fire has wiped out over three houses leaving some others heavily affected in Mile 4 (Wonya Likombo) in Limbe, a few metres to the road leading to Wotutu village. The fire incident that broke at about 4: pm on Friday February 20, 2015 has left some families homeless.
Though many neighbours turned out to put off the fire, the flames went wild as the houses were made of timber constructed over 30 years ago. The neighbours climbed the walls of the surrounding houses with bucket of water to help put off the flames, but it persisted since it was also a very hot day.
They ended up breaking down some surrounding houses to prevent the flames from spreading to the neighbouring houses.
The cause of the fire was still to be determined by the time this reporter left the scene.
